Goodbye Hong Kong, Hello UK

Saying goodbyes is not my favourite thing to do, however, it is time to move on after living in Hong Kong for over 15 years.

Although Hong Kong is famous for its metropolitan city life,

it is beautiful sub-tropical landscape,

and the amazing wildlife have made it one of my all time favourite places in the world.

I will definitely miss my neighbours of over 5 years, a pair of charismatic Red-whiskered Bulbuls. I wish them a very happy life together~

Every spring I will be thinking of the pair of swallows who come to the same nest in the neighbourhood year after year.

Last but not least, I will treasure the most precious gift from Hong Kong -----the memory of my beloved dog, Feizai.  The abandoned stray dog taught me the meaning of unconditional love and loyalty, and changed my life forever.

Friend of HK is relocating to UK, and will continue to share wildlife stories here from Southwest England.

I will miss all your wonderful images from HK, and though you will miss them also think of all those memories you will have.
So welcome back to SW UK and hope the weather will not be to much of a shock.

Hi Friend of HK
Your return on your favorite images is a treat. The exotic images fail me ..... probably also in your new life. But I want you to grow it as much as possible. Welcome to Europe. Cordially.

Reading your blog has certainly made me want to visit Hong Kong. Ironically I just purchased the Princeton, Birds of Europe Field Guide yesterday. Now I look forward to reading your blog posts from the UK, and familiarizing myself with British birds.

My goodness!
Leaving Honk Kong after 15 years of such a rich life there must be heart breaking...
I know what it feels like: we had to leave South Africa after 16 years there....
I truly hope you will enjoy being back in England and I bet the weather must have been a shock at landing!!
You chose the coldest summer to be back...
Brilliant set of photos, you will miss these exotic species!!
Cheers and good luck!
